At the office of Dr. Priti Naik, we use an intraoral camera upon every visit to get the ultimate picture of every patient’s dental health. An intraoral camera is mounted on the tip of a pen-like wand and wrapped in a disposable plastic cover (for contamination purposes). Dr. Naik places the intraoral camera in the patient’s mouth to take a quick video. It works by transmitting images it takes in a patient’s mouth through a cable to a computing unit. The computing unit then analyzes, enlarges, and colorizes the images to full-size where they are displayed on an examination room monitor.

You can easily see the entire, surprisingly detailed, inside of your mouth, including your teeth, gums, and tongue all while comfortably sitting in your dental chair! The intraoral camera allows Dr. Naik to identify your dental problems, explain their recommendations for treatment, so each patient can become and informed partner their own dental care, instead of just and ordinary patient.
