Are veneers right for me?
Dental veneers are known for their versatility and natural appearance. If you are considering improving your smile with dental veneers consider the following benefits:
- Restores uneven spaces or gaps between the teeth
- Whitens the appearance of teeth that have staining or are permanently stained
- Can change the size and shape of misshapen teeth for a more even appearance
- Repairs small signs of wear and chips in the teeth
what are veneers?
Our custom veneers are personalized to each patient for their ideal shape, size and color. These thin, strong shells of tooth-colored porcelain fit over the front surface of the teeth to improve the smile’s ideal shape, size and color. After receiving treatment with dental veneers, results look strong and natural and can last many years with proper care.
your appointment for veneers
At your appointment, Dr. Naik will carefully assess your dental health and medical history to determine if veneers are right for you. Because it is a relatively simple treatment, veneers may benefit patients of a wide range of ages, backgrounds and goals.
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells of tooth colored material designed to cover the front surface of the teeth. Natural looking by design, they require little buffing to the enamel of the teeth before placement and are strong and stain resistant. Composite resin veneers, in contrast, are ideal for patients who require dental fillings using composite resin to match or lighten the color of the tooth. If you are debating all of your options in cosmetic dentistry, lumineers may also be suggested to cover chips, stains or gaps in the teeth.

When Would I Need Veneers?
Veneers are a great solution for patients who have serious cosmetic problems with their smile, but have a healthy mouth that is free of gum disease and tooth decay. Because they are designed to completely cover up the front surfaces of your teeth, veneers can correct almost any cosmetic dental issue.
This includes things like gaps in your smile, slightly-crooked or crowded teeth, serious tooth stains, uneven and misshapen teeth, and more. With a set of veneers from Dr. Priti Naik, you can completely restore your smile in just 2 short, minimally-invasive appointments.
What Can I Expect From The Veneers Placement Process?
The veneers placement process at the office of Dr. Priti Naik takes two appointments over a period of a few weeks. After you’ve been approved for a smile makeover at our office, you’ll come in for your veneers preparation appointment with Dr. Naik.
At this appointment, your teeth will be trimmed to make room for your veneers. Dr. Naik will begin by cleaning and numbing your mouth. Then, she will use a dental drill to gently remove about 0.5mm of the teeth that are getting veneers. This is done to ensure that your veneers hold tightly to your teeth and do not add any bulk to your smile.
Once your teeth have been trimmed, Dr. Naik will take impressions of your teeth using trays and dental putty. These will be sent to a dental lab, where your veneers will be custom-built to fit your teeth. This process takes a few weeks, so she will apply a set of temporary veneers and send you home.
In 2-3 weeks, you’ll come in for your final appointment. Dr. Naik will remove your temporaries, then check the fit of each of your veneers and bond them into place. Finally, your teeth will be buffed and polished, and you’ll go home with a brand-new smile.
How Should I Care For My Veneers?
For the most part, you can care for your veneers just like you would care for natural teeth. Make sure that you brush at least twice a day for two minutes, and floss once a day to remove plaque and food particles that can’t be reached by brushing. You should also see Dr. Priti Naik for regular six-month oral exams and teeth cleanings to ensure that your smile stays healthy.
There are a few other steps we’d recommend to ensure that your veneers last a long time. Don’t chew very hard or crunchy foods like almonds and ice with your front teeth, as this could lead to more wear & tear and eventually dislodge or damage your veneers. Chew these foods only with your rear teeth.
You also should not chew non-food objects with veneers. If you bite and chew pens, pencils, or your fingernails, this is a good time to break the habit, and prevent wear & tear. Additionally, never use your teeth as tools to do things like tear tape or open packages, as this could damage your veneers and your teeth.
